My name is Olesya Vellend. I am a gynecologist.
I completed my residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the East Tallinn Central Hospital and have been working as a gynecologist since 2009.
Professional continuing education
I continuously improve my skills at professional conferences and practical training in laparoscopic surgery. I regularly participate in professional training courses for gynecologists.
Endometriosis - my professional experience and continuing education
Endometriosis is one of the gynecological diseases that I often encounter in my daily work. The diagnosis and treatment of this disease require thorough study, a consistent approach and consideration of the individual needs of each patient.
To deepen my professional knowledge and improve my treatment experience, I completed an internship at Helsinki University Hospital (HUS) in 2023, which focused on the diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis.
Over the past four years, I have regularly participated in international endometriosis congresses and specialist conferences, where modern diagnostic and treatment options for the disease, including surgical and medical treatment, as well as issues of chronic pain and quality of life related to endometriosis, are discussed.
In April 2026, I participated in the international endometriosis conference held in Frankfurt, where I learned about the latest research, treatment options and development trends in the field.
I consider continuous self-improvement and the implementation of the principles of evidence-based medicine in daily treatment to be important. The goal of endometriosis treatment is not only to treat the disease, but also to alleviate the patient's symptoms, improve the quality of life and create an individual and long-term treatment plan in collaboration with the patient.
My goal is to provide women with endometriosis with a professional, individual and modern approach, based on the needs of each patient and the principles of evidence-based medicine.
